I am having difficulties to export my images, no apparent reason. What happens is that after I chose the name and file in which it will be saved, Inkscape exporting bar appears, as if it was processing the exportation, but then it closes automatically and the file isn't exported. I really don't know what else to do. A friend of mine that I recommended Inkscape is having the same issue.
I've tried this. However, it seems that the problem is related to the fact that I am using files that were originaly made in another computer, so that the automatic path when I try to export is related to that other computer's path, which is, just to say one example: "C:\Users\Isabella\Desktop\blablabla.png". Because of that I click in "Export as" to save in another directory, I choose another directory from the computer I am currently using, and press "Save". Then the problem occurs, Inkscape crashs.
I tried the following things:
1) Before pressing "export as", I deleted the previous name of the path that is automatically written by the left side of the "export", and only then I pressed "export as" to choose a new directory. But the problem repeats itself.
2) Instead of trying to click in "Export as" and choose another directory, I tried deleting the already writen path by the left side of Export "C:\Users\Isabella\Desktop\blablabla.png" and then simply put "blablabla" and pressed "export". It strangely worked, though I did not know where the file was saved in.
For the time I'm using this work around, but it's kindda crazy.
Hey, Tyler! Indeed, that seems to be the case. But I expected that, If I press "Export as" and choose another directory, there shoudn't be a problem. But it seems that to choose a new directory through "export as" isn't enough, it has to coincide with the exact path writen by the left side of the "export" key, which is, to say the least, a bit limitating. I expected that, once I choose a new directory through the "export as" option, Inkscape would understand that it should save the file in that new directory and automatically update the path written by the left side of te "export" key. It took me sometime to be able to understand how to work around the issue. Before that I simply wasn't able to export my files, which is a big problem in my point of view. I think other people might have the same problem. For the time I am gonna resignate myself to save the files in the home directory and then organize it all, but maybe it should be considered as a bug to be reported to the inkscape team.

Any clues to solve it?
Thanks
I could be completely wrong, however this may be worth a try. ( Please do not be offended )
Can you change your svg path and export path to exlclude any Portugese or Spanish characters.
For example if you home / user folder is:
C:\users\êçú
can you save to something which only contains only English Western characters ?
C:\bob

Hey
Having the same issue here. It was working fine till today.
If the previous directory does not exist, the file will not be saved.
If the text field was empty, no file will be saved.
If just the filename is entered with no path, the file will be save in the user home directory (this differs between OSs).
Best test is to enter a legitimate path and filename before clicking the export button.
