I'm using an svg file as a base file and importing an image on a layer on top of the svg. Is there any way to set the image to import at the same size as the svg? Is there also any way to set the image to import at the default coordinates such as 0,0 ?
Inkscape has paste options which can paste parameters instead of content.
If you make a rectangle the same size as your page size, and put it to the side of the page out of the way you can use that to paste size parameters from to other groups or objects.
If you lock the aspect ratio ( using the padlock next to width and height on the selection toolbar ) you can paste the width or height which will resize without distortion.
If you group object first, you do the same for any group.
To set the coordinates to 0,0. The Object>Align and distribute, choose the relative to page dropdown, and align left edges / top edges

If you are familiar with copy, cut and paste.
