finally got a new PC (win 10) which has allowed me to upgrade past my trusty old version 0.48
...but I keep getting tripped up by the pen tool in 1.1 drawing circles for me.
The mode defaults to Spiro rather than regular Bezier?
I've tried resaving the template and adjusting the preferences but it defaults to Spiro every time I create or open a file.
Is there a way to change this behaviour so that it defaults to regular bezier?

I'd give 1.2 a try.
Sorry, 1.2 is not out yet.
I cannot reproduce in 1.1 on Linux.
I might try resetting the preferences.xml in the Preferences>System dialog.
