    The View - Swatches dialog doesn't seem to show any swatches, it just duplicates the palette bar along the bottom of the screen. How do I get it to show swatches please?

    That's odd.

    Please post system and Inkscape info, and share an example Inkscape SVG.

    I was not able to reproduce the issue usingย Inkscape 1.1.1 (3bf5ae0d25, 2021-09-20) under Windows.ย
