Hey guys, how does one create such an animated video like Tyler Durden does in e.g. <https://inkscape.org/nl/forums/questions/shadow-effect-for-a-stack-of-two-coins/>

My goal is to give an answer on how to simulate the <G40 G41 an G42> tool offset in inkscape's path to G-code.

That is because of Inkscape does only Laser engrave or Mill at the contour lines as far as I know. (I have checked the .inx and .py files of the G-code extensions with the limited knowledge of mine)

Next step would be to create an extention to do this stuff automated, but for the moment now I do not have the skills yet.(https://inkscape.org/develop/extensions/)

On my side, I use screentogif on PC

On Windows, I use ShareX for screen captures.  On Linux I use Peek, but that has been abandoned, so I'm trying others.

A bit late to the party perhaps, but who knows it might be useful for you in future.
For recording a screen capture for tutorials I use OBS (free and open source), it would work just as well for short snippet explanations. Vimeo also has a screen capture function, and you then could just share the link to the video instead of posting the entire video, but I guess that requires an account.
