I recently downloaded this svg file. While inkscape recognizes it as an svg and it looks right in inkscape, if you try to edit nodes, it's impossible to figure out what happened with the original file. The image is a circle but there are nodes/shapes outside this circle that I can only see if I hover over them with the node tool. If I open the file in another program (like Illustrator), it doesn't look like the original and there are lines going everywhere. I try to clean up the nodes and paths but I can't see to make headway with it. It's hard to explain what exactly is happening so I've attached the file. I'm trying to be as specific as I can but I'm not even sure what questions I need to ask.
I newly installed the latest version of inkscape (.exe) with Windows 10
No Inkscape at hand atm - but Affinity Designer tells all objects passing the boarder of the circular appearance are path-clipped paths. A technique available in Inkscape via Object->Clip->Set clip and it‘s non-destructive. So I‘m not sure what your question might be exactly.

The second issue I'm having is that this file looks great in Inkscape, but when I try to open it in illustrator, I get the following result (see picture). When I open it back up in inkscape and look at the layers and try to clean up the nodes, I have several layers for one piece of the image. I can't seem to clean up the nodes so that they will look right in Illustrator. I'm inexperienced enough in inkscape, that I don't understand what's happening and how to fix it. I was hoping someone in this forum would be able to help me. Thanks in advance!
