Hi, I am having trouble with Pattern along Path LPE. I created a pattern, drew a path, copied it. Now when I click to apply the LPE, it distorts the pattern object. No copies, duplicates or anything.
Is there any good documentation or video on the same ? Thanks.
I don't know about good documentation, but I did cover this LPE in part 46 of my tutorial series for Full Circle Magazine (free download). You can find links to all the magazines here: http://www.peppertop.com/blog/?p=1563
Your screenshot shows an Ellipse and not a path. Convert it with Object to Path first - copy to clipboard - select line - add Pap LPE and hit the "Paste Path" button - take node tool for further adjustments.
What´s wrong with the first? Because you´re drawing with the "Freehand lines" tool you can smooth out with cmd+L or use the Bézier-tool first for the line.

I was hoping to see intact circles along the path. That is what I thought this LPE would do. Thanks.

How is the "Pattern" built?

@PixelPest I tried a combination of 2 rectangles. Tried both " group ' and " union ".
@Xav checking..
Thanks
This is what becomes of an independent circle when applied Path along Path LPE.
A group won´t work - but a Boolean Union path should.

@PixelPest tried the above suggestion. This is what I get
Selected the line, used " Link to the path in clipboard ". Still the same

I exceeded my image upload limit in one day - so I have to use external hosters.

This LPE will always distort the content to make it "fit":

There are other methods to keep "real" circles along a path like "•" glyph as text-put-on-path for example.
Got it. Thanks :)
Thanks @Xav , your post was helpful too. Keep writing :+1:
