I'm new to this forum and also Inkscape in general. My experience thus far has been strictly 2D drafting and now that I've retired, I have the time to learn how to draft in 3D. I figured I'd start with the basics and am trying to complete the Sandbox TechDraw Template Creation Tutorial - FreeCAD Documentation. I don't know if this is the correct forum or if this should be addressed in an FreeCAD forum? Every time I try to add a "freecad" namespace clause to the <svg> item using the XML Editor in Inkspace the file reverts every time the file is closed and reopened. I was able to find the Sandbox TechDraw Template Creation Tutorial which is very clear on the steps to accomplish the task but, I've been unsuccessful with creating the namespace clause. I've been successful with many other aspects of the tutorial, but the successful creation of a namespace clause continues to elude me. I've even made sure to press enter after filling in the Attribute Name - xmlns:freecad and Attribute Value - "http://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/index.php?title=Svg_Namespace". I've attempted this using every conceivable configuration leaving quotations on, off and after three days of doing research on the subject am only frustrated at every turn. I've lost track of how many times I've entered this information and even deleted the file starting fresh, restarted the computer. the only other thing I can think to do is uninstalling the Inkspace software and reloading it although that seems pretty futile as the tools/features I've used in the program thus far seem to work well.
HELP your input is greatly appreciated.

    You want the FreeCad forum.

This website is for Inkscape and its associated applications.

We salute FreeCad as a FOSS program, and try to help users moving 2d geometry between Inkscape and other CAD programs like FreeCad.
