v1.3 removes alpha-numeric symbol sorting and as with previous versions you are unable to bulk add symbols.
2 extensions:
1) Basic bulk add symbol extension https://inkscape.org/~RuaridhW/%E2%98%85bulk-add-symbols (Extensions > Symbols > Quick Batch Add Symbols) -Adds each selected object individually rather than grouped as a single symbol. -Adds an editable Title element to symbol when object title is blank. This allows easier retroactive label/name adjustment. -Action only. No options to Apply.

So i've made myself some more Symbol Management extensions and updated and packaged the original 2 into a single post/package. The main update to the Batch Add & Sort is that alpha-numeric sort can now be interleaved with existing symbols. -Alpha Sort: z-axis sorts all symbols alpha-numerically. https://inkscape.org/~RuaridhW/%E2%98%85alpha-sort-symbols -Batch Remove: allows removal of all or selected symbols. Also includes a Quick Remove Selected extn (additional inx) https://inkscape.org/~RuaridhW/%E2%98%85batch-remove-symbols -Batch Add & Sort: allows batch adding with sorting and auto-labelling. Also includes Quick Batch Add extn (additional inx) https://inkscape.org/~RuaridhW/%E2%98%85batch-add-sort-symbol
The add and sort extensions work similar to Rob Antonishen's restack extension by altering the z-axis position of symbols Help and Troubleshooting advice in add & sort extension dialogue rest self explanatory (hopefully). Readme.txt provided with Add & Sort give pointers on how to setup the quick add extn as a preset action.
