Using Inkscape with Cutters/Plotters SVG to DXF exploring the export options

Lately I have systematically investigated how to best export from Inkscape to DXF files to be used by Silhouette Studio (software for the Silhouette cutting machine). I have struggled with distortions not always solved by increasing number of nodes. I have written a long post on this topic on my blog and invite you to learn with me and fill in with me if I have missed something.

In general - the short conclusion is to

    • add nodes
    • and very important: blow up the design size (exceeding the document)
    • use R14 type of dxf, ROBO, px as base unit.

I am so happy to find a solution that seems waterproof, no trial and error each time.
