Unfortunately, holding the spacebar and moving the mouse is not available in inkscape. This makes it easier to move the last node with the Bezier Tool (Pen Tool) and to move objects.
Nice technique but I don't use windows, and I don't know how to set this setting in linux/ubuntu. Also can't Inkscape bring this setting as an update? Thank you for comment :)
I actually want to move the points created with the pen tool, not the object, while drawing, but I couldn't find a video that demonstrates this. I guess the practicality I'm talking about is that this video can't explain it fully, so I tried to record the video myself I hope it's self explanatory :)

Hope it will be added soon, thanks :)
If this is something you need due to rsi, or a disability.
I used mouse keys with an external numeric keypad on windows https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/use-mouse-keys-to-move-the-mouse-pointer-9e0c72c8-b882-7918-8e7b-391fd62adf33
Drag lock, and drop will probably work.

If you can get a developer to embrace the idea - maybe.
In the meantime simply click+drag on the "X" in the middle of the object without leaving or changing tool or hitting any extra key.
