Trying to transition away from Corel, but I cannot get a correct result from Inkscape. I made an image on 11x17 Landscape. Exporting to PDF, or Printing to Microsoft .pdf all result in incorrect results. I make sure to set to Landscape 11x17, and all settings that I do in Corel, AutoCAD, Rhino, etc. I generally know what to do. Still I get prints that look like 11x17 on 8.5x11 paper, or 11x17 landscape, but the images is stretched so some elements are off the page.
Everything within the page boundaries should appear in the exported pdf. Set the page size with.... [File > Document Properties...] [Display] [Format: US Ledger/Tabloid (11 x 17 in)] [Orientation: Landscape] [Scale: 1]
Probably you've done this already.
Are you using the [File > Print...] dialog to export the pdf? Unfortunately, printing from Inkscape under Windows can be unreliable. Instead try [File > Save a copy...] and select pdf as the file type. Normally this generates accurate images that you can print from your favourite pdf viewer.

Does patterns work as expected on Mac with your suggested settings?

This gave the correct result. Thanks for your help. However, if Windows (11) printing is unreliable, then Inkscape cannot become my replacement illustration software.

@Aero. First time testing this, but it seems to perform as expected. Here's a very basic example.
Thanks. Your example prints to Microsoft PDF and exports to PDF just fine here on Windows too.
