Hi, I installed inkscape today on my mac with big sur.

But it's unreadable (like you can see in the attachments) the font is screwed up...

Can you chime in here https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inbox/-/issues/2808 and provide the following information:

• This is a first-time installation of Inkscape, you did not update from a previous version?
• Inkscape 1.0.2?
• Downloaded from our website? (i.e. not build yourself via MacPorts or similar means)
• What is your system language?
• Do you have lots of fonts installed and/or do you use font management tools?
• anything else useful you can think of

This issue with fonts has been reported but we haven't been able to diagnose/reproduce it yet. (It's not a mass phenomena, which makes that difficult.)

I'd also try checking that the system language and Inkscape language are the same.
