This is not useful as Pressing Menu->File->Clean Up Document requires opening up the file. Inkscape gives an error when opening the file. I can't clean up the file without opening it up first. Maybe you do not get an error as you are using a different version of Inkscape from me. How would I find out what is causing the error? Thank you.
I had luck with another user file today which crashes Inkscape instantly or at least produced a hang. I opened it in another SVG editor and saved from there. Here is the new saved file. Can you please check this one out? Font changes dynamically based on installed fonts I guess.
Thanks. The new file that you sent me opens without causing any errors in Inkscape. The only differences are that the font is different and that the dimensions of the image are different. I will use this new image from now on. How did you find out what was causing the problem? How did you fix the problem? Is there any way I can fix a similar problem on my own if I encounter said problem again in the future? Thank you.
I have no idea. But this is usually the first thing I try to open with another SVG software and save again. I just checked the header in text editor - but I´m not profound in reading XML files.
Inkscape can save 3 different types of SVG (Inkscape SVG, Plain SVG, Optimised SVG) and for compatible reason I´d skip Inkscape.svg. This is something you can test on your own via File->"Save As…" and give another name.
When I open this file: https://inkscape.org/~Red2347816/%E2%98%85world-war-ii-casualties2 in Inkscape, I get this error: https://inkscape.org/~Red2347816/%E2%98%85internal. The image displays correctly on Chrome and Edge without any errors. Only Inkscape seems to give an error. I am currently using Inkscape version 0.92.4. Do you know what could be causing this error? Is the error related to the file or Inkscape itself? How do I fix this error? Thank you.
Looks ok on macOS with latest Inkscape 1.1 version:
Just running a default Clean up and save again. Does this help?
Do you know where the default cleanup button is on Inkscape? Do I run the default cleanup before or after opening the file? Thank you.
Menu->File->Clean Up Document with opened document.
