Beyond the Basics The entire user interface is gibberish!

    Since today, Inkscape is all gibberish.

    First I restarted my Windows 10 PC.
    Did not help.

    Then I've uninstalled Inkscape with an uninstaller, so no residues would be there that might have been pooched.
    Reinstalled with a brand new msi I just downloaded. This gave me an installation error that I couldn't fix: it said that the msi can't be found in the location where it actually was.
    So I searched for an installer exe. Found it. Used that one instead of the msi.

    Problem still persists... and I've got an urgent production deadline this weekend! :(

    I also tried to randomly pick any language from the preferences menu. ANY language would be better than the gibberish... but that didn't help either. Not at all.
    The problem only persists in Inkscape (apparently latest version now).
    OS = Win10.

    I'd reset the preferences before proceeding: https://inkscape.org/forums/questions/getting-back-to-square-one-and-starting-over-its-easy/

    Okay. Thanks for helping, Tyler!

    I reset the preferences but to no avail... Now I have to redo all my preferences. 😥 But that's definitely not on you. You tried to help, and if this would've done it, I'd have been VERY happy, so no worries! :D

    But, there's also good news. I posted this on Facebook too, and there I got two valuable tips that I tried both at the very same time:
    1. Full uninstall, delete inkscape directory as well as app data.
    2. Install an older version.

    I did both, and yes... it works perfectly again. Now I could try to find out which tip was the right one, but....... nah, I'm good. I'm not going to experiment. ;)

    Again, thanks for the tips, even though they didn't help. I'm grateful for your effort! :)
