I have a file with multiple 24 x 24 px pages containing icons. Some pages are also 96 x 24 px. I want to export all pages as single .svg files using the Export dialouge.
However when I open the exported files the page size has changed to 64 x 64 px / 136 x 64 px respectively, even though the source pages are 24 x 24 px / 96 x 24 px respectively and in the Export dialouge the size parameters were not changed. The objects itself do not change in size, only the page does. Same behaviour between single and batch export / plain .svg and inkscape .svg.
I have not encountered this behaviour before with other files (where it works as expected) and restarting / reinstalling Inkscape does not solve the problem, so I'm assuming there's something wrong with the file or I'm overlooking something.
I don't want to post the file publicly but I have attached screenshots that should illustrate my issue. If someone wants a closer look at the files dm me and I will provide the file.
I haven't found anything related on the bug tracker yet so I'm kinda guessing that the issue is in front of the screen, however I haven't for the life of me been able to figure out what I did wrong.
Inkscape 1.2.2 (732a01da63, 2022-12-09) running on Windows 11 22H2 (22621.1413)
@Aero yep same issue. I just tried it on my new m2 mac as well, same behaviour like before but now all the items that are not on the page get exported as well (outside the page).
If you're interested to check it out yourself I can send you the files privately.
So i have been trying to replicate the bug on a clean slate but I am unable to reproduce it with a new file.
It really seems to me that there's something wrong with the file because I have tried to replicate the file that produces the bug but the bug doesn't appear.
I guess I'm just gonna have a go at copying all the files' asstes to a new file and see what that does.
TLDR: multipage document .svg export changes canvas size unintentionally.

Thank you for your time.
I'd file a bug report on the tracker. I didn't find anything related either, but new bugs get found every day.
What about empty pages? Same issue?

@TylerDurden How exciting! I have been using Inkscape since I was 14 and encountered my fair share of bugs but never was I the 1st one to find one. XD
I'm going to play around with it a bit more and then file a bug.
