Multi page layout and margins

przez ElCoyotee

Setup the Inkscape canvas for projects with multiple pages. For example booklets or flyers.
You can change the way the pages are ordered either a single array of pages for loose collection of pages or double pages for books.
As well as creating and positioning the pages margins are added for cut safety zones or content region.
The margins are grouped so they are easy to show or hide for export.

Hi - I looked at this and have a few questions / tips:

1. Do you have a public repository for this extension somewhere? (e.g. on Gitlab or on Github)

2. Why do you create paths for margins instead of using the ones that come with Inkscape's pages? (or using guides, at least) - these objects would need to be removed before exporting, and they do not work with the PDF exporter that respects the 'real' page margins.

3. Does one really need to have a unit setting for each and every distance? This extension requires 19 times of adjusting the unit (if I counted correctly), when 1 time, or maybe 2 (page size, margins) would be sufficient.

Hi,
Currently I don't have a public repository.
2. The issue with removing them before export was the reason to group them in a single layer, to make it easier to delete or hide them all at once before exporting. Also sometimes I wanted to show them in my export for a testprint. But the main reason for not using the integrated page margins was I simply missed that this feature existed.

3. You're totally right—I should change this. It's not really necessary. I just didn't notice anymore, after changing the settings once, Inkscape kept them for me.

Thank you for your tips. I hope I clarified some of my decisions. And will integrate your improvements as soon as I can.
