After opening a drawing in Inkscape today I discovered a lot text was modified. A lot of text showed some strange space between lines arranged below each other. Whatever I tried I could not get rid of this problem. I am using Linux O.S. PCLinuxOS MATE and have Inkscape 1.1.1 installed. In the attachments I give some samples to illustrate the problem.
Yes, I did. But you put me on track with your question. Today I first made is MATE system update so now I have investigated if it has something to do with that.
So I downloaded that same .svg file onto my other linux computer KDE5 which I did not update and guess what..... NO PROBLEM there!
So I have to put this problem on our PCLinuxOS user forum to see if they can discover what the problem is. Keep you informed.

Was this drawing originated in Inkscape, or imported from another program or pdf?
The drawing on the left side is an Inkscape file I thought to have downloaded where this problem showed up. I started with the Inscape drawing.
But here a new attempt.
Looks ok here in Windows and Linux Mint 20. Did you try restarting your computer?

I made a stupid spelling error in the title text. How can I correct this stange into strange?
Fixed both typos for you. Mods are happy to help.
Thank you very much Tyler!
Joe.
Let you know that the problem is solved. Had something to do with the pango package.
Anyway thanks Tyler for your help.
