I have been trying to convert my DXF file from my SOLIDWORKS part onto INKSCAPE. When I try to open the file it shows the error as shown below in the picture. After googling this I found similar problems but the solutions posted didn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but I am not the most tech savy guy. Someone suggested "by replacing it to inkex.TextElement" but i couldn't make a lot of sense out of this.
I tried re downloading and ensuring I had the correct windows version (my computer requires 64 bit) but that didn't help.
Has anyone solved this problem and can explain how they did. I found peoples previous explanations not thorough enough for me to take anything from it.
Ok. This is a known issue, still needing to be fixed. (It does open in an earlier version of Inkscape.)
A workaround I have found, is to open the file in LibreCad and delete the text in the drawing, then save. I was able to open the file in Inkscape without the text.
Okay that worked wonders. So if the work around is to open in LibreCad, a software I do not have, Would it be equally possible to just download the 2019 version or INKSCAPE?
Or would LibreCad be he best you feel?
Thank you so so much I am in school so your support on this is extremely helpful.
