If you enter a character, it will look broken like an attachment or the character will be too big to recognize. If you look at the view outline or the font features, there is no problem.

Seems you´re using a single line font and Inkscape uses a thick stroke - reduce the stroke width and check if this will help.
When it´s an outline font delete the attached stroke.
