Fairly new user here. Can never seem to find the exact font I want, but by typing out my text then changing it up with the control arrows I can get pretty close to what I want. The problem arises when I use the text on path function. The text reverts to close to the original and doesn't stay the way I want it. Is there a step I am missing somewhere along the line? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What you might be seeing are the transforms ("changing it with the control arrows") being replaced by the transforms that occur when using text-on-path.
The easy answer is to find a font you like on Google Fonts or DaFont.com, then use that font on the path.
The more complicated answer is to try converting your current text to a path object (after manipulating its height width), then using menu: Path>Path Effects>Bend to get the text to conform to a path. It won't be the same, but depending on the path, it may look ok.
