We have been running 1.1 on a PC with Windows 10 for a number of months. All has been working fie up until 2 weeks ago.
Now, if we open a file with test in the design and attempt to change the current font to any other font (which have all been working fine) inkscape does not apply the font change. It just remains what it was. There is nothing wrong with the fonts themselves - all work fine in other programs. Also if we recreate the same text but start with the new font we want, it is applied properly. This doesn't make sense and was a definite change in inkscapes behavior.
Suggestions? Is this a registry error (corruption) that needs to be deleted and rebuilt?
Thank you - I saw that in another post but it sounded a bit far reaching. Does that reset all of the preferences everywhere so we need to re-enter all of those in every preference setting?

Preferences->Reset Preferences and restart Inkscape seems worth a try.

it resets properties to the defaults - whatever these are.
