I've been using Inkscape almost all my projects, be it for app designs, logos, branding, or any other field.. i always find myself vibing with Inkscape at some scale.. I just felt really happy looking back and though i'm still learning, i want to share some of my works.
What do you think about these guys!? any criticism is very much welcome! 😊
These look totally professional. Great font choices, and a neutral colour palette. All easy on the eye. Format suggests it's intended to be used on smartphone or a tablet.
My only concern is the ux part. "We're in the boredom killing business."
New generations develop shorter attention spans, ADHD is on the rise and albeit every pleasure is at the scroll of our hands, people get more addicted than happy.
What I'm trying to say is that these can get you hooked and the layout and tons of options only divide the focus further.
You have to constantly scan for something resemble meaningful. It keeps mentally straining to track those movements and you get the feeling you are doing something, while wasting time.
On the phone layouts it's less obvious -while you need to track switching between the screens-.
But that last example, oh boy. It may look better than the inkscape gui but it's also all over the place. (Same reason I never got into github.)
And that quote right in the middle.
"To all the amazing Creators: Always keep doing what you do best!"
It is fitting with the app because the hypnotic notion that you are a creator, while you are browsing away.
Those who have passion, have the discipline and don't need their dopamine hit looking at random motivational quotes.
And those who in the creator business, don't need passion but content that generates views, likes and revenue.
Not sure about the target audience. Or would it spell "obey" through the sunglasses.
As someone who is spending way too much time online I'm looking for ways out. How to prioritise the options, hide what's unimportant or outright dangerous.
Like, "my points", at the top. And those notifications. The "approved" crests.
Reaction, likes and shares counter. All blinking lights of a slot machine you can never win against.
There always will be someone with a higher count. Does no good feeling belittled by others achievements. Comparing divides.
Not sure about those following signs either. If the user was interested in a creator they could follow it clicking on their profile page.
It may be controversial as the extra step would make it harder for following others, but that's the whole point.
Don't allow to get people on the caroussel by instinct. If you aren't even interested to check out the creator of the post, why whould you bother following?
Also, when a person you follow pops up, maybe the panel could use a different frame colour than using that icon/button.
The top articles selection and trending tags doesn't do much good either imho. Either you want to scroll your own feed -already catered towards you-
or you are so aimless you don't care about all the tracking the site did on you and want something fresh instead.
Would be interesting if the site would provide those analytic data towards the user they keep logging for their good.
"You browsed x amount of hours this week and these hashtags were your top choices. (Touch some grass we suggest.)"
Smoking campaigns its effects on the packaging, same with alcohol. Time to do something about these smart devices or apps.
Not sure how all these are connected to your design though.
Tl;dr:
fan of the graphics, not the content/intent of the apps.
Like can enjoy the design of a deck of cards but against gambling.
