I used Pattern Along Path to draw tracks on a curve, with the pattern source linked to a simple path. As I change the source path, the pattern disappears. (Screen recording below)
After many experiments, I have no idea what's happening. All I can say is that moving nodes around in the source path or the parent path might restore proper rendering.

For me, with the same OS and version as Aero : same weird results.
Some more details and a workaround. It's probably time for a bug report.
