I was going to write a post about how I could not get tooltips to appear when using a pen. Then I realised that there are posts of that sort going back 15+ years so I am in good company. However I have discovered that the tootlips are appearing - just in the wrong location, mostly offscreen.
System: Ubuntu 25.04ย / using Wayland Inkscape 1.4.2 (2aeb623e1d, 2025-05-12)ย (installed via snap) Xencelabs Pen Display 24 with driver 1.3.4
Symptoms: On apps like firefox or thunderbird it is very easy to make tooltips appear. Just as when using a mouse, just stop moving when reaching an icon, and some milliseconds later, the tooltip appears.
On Inkscape the same procedure does not work. Therefore I conclude that the issue must be inkscape specific.
I have found that I can make _some_ tooltips appear, but I have to keep the pointer very very still for an uncomfortably long time, but even then, the tooltips appear in the wrong location! I have attached a small video show how easily it works on firefox in this forum and how difficult it is to make them appear in inkscape, and how the location is completely off.

How can I fix this?
