Thank you so much to the creators and maintainers of Inkscape for giving people like me the chance to design. <3 Thank you Joshua Earle (@Joshuaearle) from Unsplash.com for letting me use your photo to create my art. And thank you to my boyfriend Jim Fisk for telling me about this contest and giving me great constructive criticism. Good luck to all you talented contestants! My thoughts on this artwork: I thought the mountain was a perfect representation of the Inkscape logo. It is winter time here in Massachusetts and I was really inspired to create a winter wonderland which reminds me of peace, happiness and fun! The soul of a big mountain, like Inkscape, gives new enthusiasm to the creative industry in the field of graphic design. As a student in design school I was the only person using inkscape and I was able to want to prove that inkscape is a great software. "La Tournette" is a mountain in french Alps, just abroad my grandfather's home. When you climb out there, or just stare at it, you feel inspired and free. Just like when you're using Inkscape...
This minimalist digital art piece was created to illustrate a page in my personal blog, and it pretends to resemble a road with a multiple-paths-sign in the middle, also could be interpreted as a mountain with some abstract clouds on top.
The main artwork and path text is in one layer and the editable text is in separate layer as required. The font used is "OpenSans", which is free for commercial use. Rest, this is all original work. let's hope that I win. Done completely in inkscape. The mountain was a simple bezier curve and the base is an ellipse. The trees were a series of triangles converted to paths and handles tweaked to form the tree shape. The car was also a created with the bezier curve tool (love that tool). I love the outdoors and hiking in the mountains. It wasn't hard to come up with this idea. I will most likely do more with the same theme. A great t-shirt/illustration for the outdoorsman.
A Misty mountain landscape at night time. Just wanted to create a moody relaxing vector drawing. Hope you guys like it!
