Beginners' Questions Text disappearing when adjusting with "Put on Path"

    I want to center text on an object after applying put on path. Subtracting horizontal kerning backs up the text, but also deletes characters.

    Added horizontal kerning, wasn't enough to move it around the entire object. Made object smaller and added kerning, got the text on top but still snips off characters. See below

    1. Immediately after applying put on path
    2. Subtracting horizontal kerning
    3. Adding kerning, making object smaller

    Goal is to get text centered on top curve. Text originates from Inkscape. Using latest version.
