There was no disruption to the website itself, but the internet had a breakdown recently with the level3 distribution that started in Germany. This could have caused issues if your computer needed to get a file from the CDN (the place where images are stored for us)
Hi Martin, That sounds really like something I don't understand. But I uploaded my picture again and that was enough. Right now (for me in the Netherlands) still many avatars are / seem to be missing.
It may be the pages/images (or lack thereof) are cached on your browser or at your ISP. There is usually a method to reload directly from the source, depending on which browser you use.

If you'd like to personalize your avatar and change the picture :
Click the "My account" link at the top of the page and select "My profile"
Click the "Edit" button:
In the Personal Details tab, add some relevant information and click the "Choose File" button to upload a 300x300 (px) picture.
(Square, static images only, please. No hotlinks permitted.)
After you have selected a picture, click the SAVE ALL button!
Now the Inkscape forum members can see your unique online persona!
