I have been using Inkscape for a couple years now, and for the past 7 months have put a lot of time on a single file that uses multiple layers to combine art, text, and borders to make some game cards.

While I have run into various bugs and crashes before, I've never had a 'bug' of this scale occur. I haven't done any work on it since Friday except opening it on Sunday, checking a few things, then saving and closing. I opened it this morning to see that several layers are gone, and some random groups in another layer are as well. It's not like it even reverted to an old save though, as I still have the art I drew on Friday, but the layer with missing groups is missing the past two months of work.

I have all my .svg files on a portable drive that I use with different computers depending on my schedule. This may be the root of the issue, but I've been using this drive for over a year and haven't had any problems. Has anyone else experienced something like this? Luckily, I did back up the file on Friday, but I'm still curious how this could've happened.

I´d check and compare with Autosaved files?
