Hello, I found out if I draw a shape with a light color and make a above stroke only layer with a darker color I can almost make a inner glow effect. The problem is that there is an outer glow that is still present.
How do I remove the outer glow effect from a shape while keeping the inner glow? This is meant to give the appearance of depthed, beveled shapes in a non-destructive way. Thanks. Also if there is an alternative way let me know.
Not my preferred choice, but in this case a quick solution is to select the background and blurred stroke objects, then right-click > Create Clip Group.
@PixelPest nice. On my PC it doesn't find either command in Inkscape 1.2-dev. Nor does it locate the commands it does find in the menus. Although I did request that a while back.

Hi, there are several ways/methods.
For starters, look at these videos.
https://www.google.com/search?q=inkscape+inner+glow&safe=active&client=ms-android-verizon&prmd=vin&sxsrf=ALeKk023iI8W6mtJO1Xv460xsnvu3zt8Jg:1620698459151&source=lnms&tbm=vid&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi-18efxMDwAhWInOAKHZ-8BTQQ_AUoAXoECAIQAQ&biw=360&bih=560#ip=1
I used a CLIP
Before -> After
This can be undone with Object->Clip->Release
There is a blur called evanescent.
It applies an opacity gradient to the inner of the shape. You can then snap another colour identical shape behind to make a subtle glow.
I've done a yellow and orange one.
Just another option.
A drop shadow set to inner and negativ offset will do as well:
So after some manual searching, that would most likely be:
Menu->Filters->Blurs maybe?
Menu->Filters->Shadows and Glows->Drop Shadow
That's how this work on macOS:
