And 16x16 (px?) is not right? I donยดt understand. Iยดm drawing all my icons (and I made thousands of it as an "Icon-forger") in original page size and can export in pixel size to whatever I want when bitmaps are required - and usually thatยดs what is needed.
I would probably select the oldest file and assume that it is the original. If you open files with a text editor you can see the difference between the various SVG file formats:
