Hello all ...
Been a year or so since I was using Inkscape. I was giving Affinity Designer a try. It's OK, but I do like Inkscape.
Reminds me of my Macromedia Freehand days.
Now that Inkscape 1.2 is alive and well, I'll give a try.
If someone can point me to a good tutorial on Youtube or Inkscape, please do so.
First think is I want to set up my keyboard shortcuts.
I just can't seem to get it. Let's say I want to change the shortcut for Preference.
I type it in the search box, and nothing. I have to drill down and look for it. Same with Document Preference and others.
I must be missing something or doing something wrong.
Also, I though you could sort the shortcuts by pressing the Shortcut header.
Anyway, ask me some questions about what I am doing.
Thanks for listening.
Bob
There are a couple of shortcuts that are blocked from being changed.
The shortcut for Edit>Preferences is one of these.
Edit>Preferences
For everything else.
If you navigate to Edit>Preferences>Keyboard ( you can use the search field when you get there )
Edit>Preferences>Keyboard
Once there, clicking on the Shortcut column entry for that feature, it will say New Accelerator....
Shortcut
New Accelerator....
Then you can press your desire key combination
Thanks for getting back with me.
I was finally able to find Preferences and set it to what I was used to.
What is puzzling to me is why I can't get search to work.
I would like to change document properties. It is not under the File label. So where is it?
Won't show up with a search.
I must still be missing something.
I thought that pressing the shortcut header would sort all the shortcuts. I guess not. Seems like that is the way to set them.
Thanks ...
Is this what you need?
Yes, that is what I am looking at.
I think I might have just figured it out. After a search, I was not seeing any hits.
I guess I need to click each little triangle on the left to open it up and find the results of the search.
Is that how it works?
I wish there was a open all to show all the commands!
Oh well, I can find a list of commands somewhere else.
I understand that by double clicking under the shortcut heading will give you the new accelerator token.
Thanks for checking in.
