Is there a way to import a picture/ vector graphicย inside a second PDF?
I use Inkscape to manipulate old technical drawings in PDF format, when it comes to modify an old machine. I tag the changes in the part list with the text function of Inkscape.ย I also want to replace the old part with the new part, which I have designed in CAD. Technically I want to overlay the area of the old part with the new part.
I Import the picture into its own Layer, then set that to the BOTTOM layer, lock it and set the opacity down to about 30% so its kind of a ghost image behind what I'm working on. By clicking the "eye" symbol on the Layers options window, you can hide or show the original drawing.ย Is that what you're looking for? Or are you looking for the step by step of importing another drawing?

Sure... I'd open the pdf in Inkscape and import the bitmap file of the new part(s). The original image can be hidden or deleted.
