    Hello, I'm new with Inkscape 1.0.1 (Windows10)
I'm verifying the possiblity to use it to create DXF input for laser engraving.
For this we want to import necessary symbols from DXF files.
After import geometry is grouped automatically.
To snap such an object to a guide I can use existing points like the midpoint of the objectframe.
Unfortunatelly this doesn't always fit my needs.
Is there a possibiliy to define a point inside the object - a kind of anchor?
I was searching for a hint but didn't find an answer.

    Thanks for any information

The rotation center of any object can be arbitrarily moved, and used as a snap point.Β  Will this solve the issue?

That's a good idea. At first I was concerned that it might not be possible to position the rotation center exactly. But you can also use the "Snap rotation center" to position the pivot point in relation to its object.

    Many Thanks
