I have noticed that the canvas (along with all the objects) has rotated slightly anti-clockwise. I don't remember doing anything to cause this.

How do you bring the canvas back to normal view (not rotated)?

Check out for R value at the bottom right Inkscape window. Canvas Rotation can be disabled in Preferences.
