After struggling with the poor performance on my M1 macbook for the past year or two (I had to change resolution to make it at all usable), I was so completely blown away by the new version (actually, I think this happened in 1.2) that I am moved to leave a note on the Internet! This improves my day so much that I can't let it go without making my appreciation for the devs known. And of course, not only is it better, it's better than it has ever been. And I've been using it since the good old days of 0.48. For the things I use it for, it beats everything else.
Anyway, thanks for everything. Truly, Inkscape is a magnificent achievement.
