Teams

The Inkscape community has several teams who meet, discuss and work on different aspects of developing Inkscape, looking after its infrastructure and supporting the community around the project. Here you will find all the current teams and the ability to join them.

Inkscape User

A group of all inkscape users who are just normal users by day, but amazing, attentive super users by night. They make art, they post it and share it, they love Inkscape so much that they found the users team hidden behind a locked door in the basement of the website, behind a sign that says "beware of the leopard"

Inkscape Developer

The designers, programmers, testers and writers who wrangle the software into a usable form. This is the main body of people who work on inkscape's most technical aspects and they are often found in the inkscape-developer's mailing list.

Project Leadership Committee

Inkscape has a Leadership Committee who look after certain functions for the project. These include policy definition, funding and fund-raising, finances and budgeting, brand management and inter-project collaboration. Technical direction still falls to the entire developer community.

Inkscape Sponsors

Without the help of our sponsors, we could never be the productive and creative community we are. We are always on the lookout for new sponsors who want to help the Inkscape project make the best SVG vector editor possible. If you'd like to be a sponsor, then take a look at these available sponsorship levels and contact us with your request. Please note that all rewards are for a period no longer than a year from the date and time of the sponsorship, and that news entries are written for single dates with no guarantee that they will remain the top news article for any length of time, although they often will be on the front page for at least a week.

Inkscape Vectors Team

The Vectors are the marketing, outreach, and promotion team for Inkscape. Designers, artists, marketers, writers, and anyone enthusiastic about bringing Inkscape to more people in more places is welcome to join.

Inkscape UI & UX

The User Experience (UX) and Design team is focused on helping Inkscape formalise it's design and test it's user experience to improve how users use the program. This includes helping develop new features, polishing existing features and designing interfaces and themes.

Project Members

A list of all the project members who are able to vote and take part in the discussion processes as contributing members.

Translators of the website

We are the people who make the Inkscape website available in different languages, so everyone can take part in the Inkscape community. We're a helpful and supportive little team of people dedicated to lowering the barriers for people to get started with Inkscape.

Issue/Bug Wranglers Team

The first line of attack for sorting out all the reports on GitLab. We use the Inbox system on GitLab to apply tags, move confirmed issues to the right sub-project and request further information from users.

Documentation Team

The Docs team creates and maintains Inkscape's documentation, which consists of tutorials, manuals, reference guides, and any other instructional materials which the team concludes would benefit Inkscape, and most importantly, the Inkscape community. These will be textual documents as well as videos. And we hope, looking into the future, for "Inkscape University" which would provide coursework!

Release Team

The release team is responsible for taking Inkscape and forging it into a more stable, more editable version which can then be packaged for each of the platforms possible. It sets schedules for releases, monitors progress with bugs and decides on blocking and non-blocking bug lists. All in coordination with the developers team.
