I'd like to announce *SVG Stencils*, a new community driven project with the ambition to be a major resource for open source design kits.
The core part of the project is the web app svg-stencils.github.io containing community submitted stencils. The components listed here can be dragged directly from your browser into your Inkscape canvas. Checkout this introduction video to see how easy it works.
Help us grow! Create and submit your own stencils. The SVG-Stencils Inkscape Extension helps you to create and publish new stencils in minutes.

This does look good, like a huge drag and drop symbol library.
I've tried it on Inkscape 1.1.1 on Ubuntu 21.10.
Also on Inkscape 1.2-alpha on Windows 11.
I can't get the drag and drop to work ?
Can you mention which OS and Browser and Inkscape version you are using.

This is a super interesting idea and a great one too! Thank you for your work on this. I'm pretty much sure this is useful and will benefit more users in our community!
Do you know if we can make something similar with the widgets to create Inkscape extensions as well? Could we have a visual representation of them in your library as well? I tried coming up for Inskcape extensions, in GTK3, but I'm not 100% confident it is the right library to do this. Just wondering...
@inklinea, I tested this in macOs and Linux. On Linux I had problems with drag and caused by Wayland. When you use wayland in stead of X11 you must make sure Firefox starts with a special wayland option. Same counts for Chrome. I will test the Windows issue myself soon.
@victorwestmann, The widgets support simple input controls like fields and buttons. What what be needed is a webview field or a dedicated svg viewer. That why I choose to implemented this outside inkscape. With webview it could be included in the future of course.
