So I was about to download Inkscape 1.3.1 but at the download page it says

So apparently I need to find an older version of Inkscape. How do I know which one to chose and where do I find it? I'm on Windows 11 23H2 if that helps
Yes, there were several options to chose from. I finally downloaded and built this one:
Inkscape 0.92.5 is a stability and bugfix release.
I can save boxes and spirals with this one, at least it seems to be working fine. I had to tweak some stuff to make it build using Microsoft Visual Studio and 2022 BuildTools though. And some of the extensions wont work.

Version 1.3 (Released on July 23, 2023) does not seem to have the issue(s).
