Beginners' Questions What quality do I use to put my graphics in Word?

Good afternoon. I am using Inkscape 1.1 (Windows 10) to create graphs of mathematical functions. I want to put these graphics in Word but when I put it, I feel that the quality of the image is lowered.

I exported the graphics to PNG and even if they looked good, it was distorted when I changed the size of the image within Word.

I saved each image with the normal svg format. At the time of placing them in Word they did not lose quality but at the same time I feel that they do not have the same quality as perhaps in the original program.

What is the best format/mechanism to put inkscape images into a word document?

Does it have to do with the size in which I make the drawings in the application (on the canvas)?

    Thanks!

    Hi.

What is the pixel dimension of the PNG?

l placed PNG and SVG in LibreOffice Writer document and can´t tell which is which. You?

I don´t know how good the rendering is of Word.

Hello! thanks for answering. I don't know if this data is correct, but I think it is related to quality:

The values seems ok - I don´t know if Word can handle SVG though. If not try a higher dpi value for PNG export.

Word may have settings that compress inserted images. I'd check advanced options.

Thanks for helping me, (both of you)

I realized that I was making the graph too small, that is, the canvas is A4 and the graph was tiny. Now I tried to make a larger graph, I put the Cartesian axes larger and longer in the middle of the sheet and I did my function there and it seems to me that it turned out better. Attached together for your opinion. (I put the image in svg format)

I also tried LibreOffice Writer, the problem is that Word has a better equation editor, in LibreOffice there is no way to get some editing boxes out of the equations and it looks ugly.

I would like to know, if you know, right here, a place where I can find inkscape templates to download, for example, I am looking for one that has coordinate axes (Cartesian axis) to see how they look with that configuration. Thanks for everything!

(And don't worry about the language, the important thing is the image)

I was surprised to discover that MS Office applications now support svg images. Link to the Microsoft support page:

Thanks for showing me the Cartesian grid, only when I use it, squares appear and not the two axes I need. Sure I don't know how to configure it, but I don't understand it. Also, I think you have another version of Inkscape because it doesn't appear as well as in the photo.

Either way, don't worry, I opted to make my own axes.

    But I have another problem.

I have the pink function. So that I don't have to redraw it, I want to cut the little piece that I cut (the one you see in the picture) and put that little piece in one place. The problem is that this piece that is cut is part of the same original object and I need to separate it because the pink function must stay there and that piece must be placed in another place that I want.

To copy that little piece I selected the nodes tool, then I selected the three nodes that limited that part of the figure and I pressed ctrl + c , then I pasted it with ctrl + v.

I tried going to "Objects" then "ungroup" but it doesn't work as it is still part of the object.

If you want me to put this in another forum you can tell me and I'll open a new forum to ask for help. Thank you very much and sorry for bothering you.

I just showed the path to the Cartesian grid as macOS does when typing in the Help search field.

If ungroup not work it might be a compound path which you can separate into its parts by Path->Break Apart.
