Howdy, I have a layout of text and graphics (vector only). All looks good in Inkscape, but when I save as a PDF (PDF 1.5 text to path) some of the graphics and text does not print, some does. I am at a loss what could be wrong here. Enclosed is a partial of the drawing so you can reproduce the issue. Using Inkscape 1.2.2 What am I missing here? What is the difference?
I have identified the problem, but I don't know the underlying mechanism causing it.
1. When I selected the elements in your file by dragging and copied them to another file, exporting the new file with copied elements to PDF worked fine (all the elements were included).
2. When I selected all the elements in your file by "select all" (i.e. ctrl+a) and copied them to another file, exporting the new file with copied elements to PDF resulted in some elements being lost.
3. After examining your file closely, I find that a group of objects was the cause of the issue (see the screenshot below). This group of objects appeared to be useless, and deleting it prevented any loss of elements when exporting to PDF.
Thank you very much @Ted1277 No idea how you found that file in there. I had been poking around for a while looking for something like that with no luck. But using the location of the highlight in your screen shot I was able to go back to my full file (the posted one just had some of it), quickly find that block and delete it and, as you say everything works fine now.
Thank you again for your help. I was pulling my hair out on this one.
