Thank you for informing of my inch square is correct, then the rest will be fine!
I did manage to print by selecting, then path, trying both stroke and object. I printed each type separately, saved as then exported as PDF.
Fine but a new problem occurred the lines printed as double parallel lines, even the text was unfilled!!!!!
Yes they should be black! The lines. I don't yet understand the differences of using swatch colours and why i had to colour that way i thought it was solid and black as i thought i had drawn them!
I have only just started using the software so still unclear what i am doing! I am having lots of error curves which the manual doesn't seem to steer me through! Like why the bell shape will not fill with solid colour but show all the 'construction' shapes as empty spaces? (See attachment) , i drew the bell using a basic shape skeleton then traced around the shapes to get the bell shape. How do i stop this happening as i want to draw more complicated shapes than those in the previous document.
Thanks again for your answers they were helpful. /
I have drawn line drawings for template pattern.
I have saved, exported in every form.
I have looked at the stroke colour which seems correct on black.
I have tried to print from the Inkspace screen, in PDF, and still no printing of the shapes, lettering.
Please help what could i be doing wrong/not doing and how can i fix it?
Hi
Not answer but here exported your file to pdf (UM22.04 Inkscape 1.2 (1:1.2.1+202207142221+cd75a1ee6d)) and it printed out fine.
I only use export to pdf for printing. The test square did print out at 1".
There can be issues when using custom swatches.
It looks like all the objects should be black, is there some reason custom swatches were used?
Thank you for answering mendy and tyler durden.

The bell has fill applied, when just strokes might be what you are looking for. he same with the embroidery lines.
I suggest stepping through the fast and easy Tutorials in Inkscape's Help menu, for a start on some of these basics.
After that, chime back when you hit any bumps... many folks here are happy to help.
