I had to reinstall Inkscape because I got a new computer so I had to reinstall Inkscape. I noticed that the fonts that I use were not there. So I went online and downloaded the fonts that I like to use and installed them. But when I go back into Inkscape they are not there. I checked to make sure that the fonts were installed and under the fonts file it shows all of them. What do I need to do to get these fonts back into Inkscape.

    Thanks

Have you restarted Inkscape and made sure fonts are installed for all users on your PC?

    1. Describe your OS (your computer's Operating System: Mac/Windows/Linux/etc. & version).
    2. Describe the version of Inkscape and the installer you used (the file you downloaded from the web: .msi/.exe/.zip/appimage/other, PPA/Snap/Flatpak, dmg/other )
    3. Describe any special hardware being used, like tablet/stylus, external drives or multiple monitors.

I'm using Windows 11. I just bought this new computer & it came with Windows 11. This will be the first time that I seen or used Windows 11. Because I had to but a new computer I had to download the latest version of Inkscape. When I was using the older version of Inkscape there were a few fonts that I used quite often but now with this new version of Inkscape those fonts aren't there. So I went to DaFont web site and from there I was able to find most of the fonts that I liked. So I downloaded them and unzipped each one. I then selected the install button. After I did this with all  of the fonts I wanted to add I went into the fonts program file to see if they were installed .& they were there. But when I went back into Inkscape none of the fonts were there. So how can I get there fonts installed into Inkscape.

For clarity, I'll repeat Polly's questions:

    1. When installing the fonts, was there a selection: "Install for all users"?
    2. Did you restart Inkscape after installing the fonts?

I didn't see anything like that & yes I did restart both Inkscape & my computer. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

You can also use fonts in Inkscape without installing them.

Tyler and Polygon. Are you referring to this old  bug in Inkscape and the workaround for Windows 10?

    Probably...I'm still on Win10.

Not sure I ever had the issue tho.

From what I have heard, Windows11 is the latest version of an imposition for end users. It would be interesting to know if the installed fonts work in other third party software or if only Inkscape is affected on that PC.
