I am trying to fix up a traced bitmap but many of the nodes only have one handle. I've been searching for about an hour trying to find an answer to how to get the second handle to appear but can't seem to get the keywords. I'm sure it's a simple thing and I've just forgotten it. I am able to shift drag the first node out but attempting to shift drag after that just moves the node rather than pulling out a second handle.
Here you can see an example. One node has both handles out, the other only has one.

If the node moves, it might not be joined to two segments. A shift-drag on a node with two segments connected will extend the second handle.
I'd drag a selection box around that node and see if two are selected, if so, I'd join them.
That was the issue, I had to join the nodes with a new segment. Thanks so much.
