Beginners' Questions Extra Overlapping Lines When Exporting Path with PowerStroke Effect

    Hello All 🙂

    Looking for some guidance please.

I have searched for an answer and even a similar problem but so far no joy.  I am using Inkscape 1.2 on a Windows 10 machine.  Just using my mouse, nothing fancy.  I have tried exporting in multiple formats and all of the stroke and fill settings.  Can seem to get around my issue.

Ok now to my problem. I am creating some "squigglies" with the PowerStroke path effect.  That works great.  However when I export them to do laser burning and cutting there are extra lines at the redirection points on the path.  This is causing me a lot of extra work and cleanup to get the geometry ready for the laser.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.  Images attached.

    I'd try Path>Union, then Path>Break apart, then Path>Union again.

If that fails, I would try the bucket tool to make new objects.

Thanks so much @TylerDurden!  Path Union was all I needed. 👍

NB Path>Union may leave islands within objects... if so, break-apart, union.
