Beginners' Questions Eraser tool almost every time leaves red trail without cut. Very small chance it works?

    Hello

    Just last week installed Inkscape for the first time. version 1.0. The eraser tool almost every time, in the erase cut away method, leaves a red trail that stays and does omegle xender  not cut away. It does rarely work but never more than 2 times in a row and than the next five just leave the red trail. I saw that the mass option is dimmed out. Thanks

    This is a long standing issue (first reported in inkscape v 0.91), I'm not sure if there is a suitable workaround, but the problem is tracked in https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/-/issues/540

    In general, I wouldn't recommend using that or the fill bucket tool (they have their uses but its not what most people expect), see https://inkscape.org/forums/questions/erase-tool-not-working/ They have their uses, but is not what most people expect.

    Depending on what you want, there may be different workarounds for it (using the Difference boolean operation on the new paths, or doing some combination of boolean operations and clipping the result) http://write.flossmanuals.net/start-with-inkscape/boolean-operations/
