Hello to all

if there's a way to save as DXF file with only the selected items.

the export menu does not have the DXF file. 

could it be added on futur inkscape version.

It´s available in stable 1.3.2 too.

BTW, I just tried the Beta 1.4.2 to check DXF selection export, and did not find anything at all. 

so I uninstall 1.4.2, and tried to re-install 1.3.2 and cannot. 

received a message the previous 1.4.2 still installed. (even with a reboot Windows 10)

previously I was able to import DXF files, but not with 1.4.2.

with Inkscape 1.4-beta2 (9aaf4f3498, 2024-07-30) cannot import or save DXF files anymore like version 1.3.2

tried to find Polygon example screen with DXF, but cannot.

Had to revert to 1.3.2

You´re currently not saving as "DXF" from what I see in the screenshot on the left side but as "drawing.png".

inkscape 1.4.2 , windows 10

here's the results trying to save/load dxf , received errors, 

exporting  selections , I had to use the (use extention) option , otherwise the .dxf does not show from the regular drop down list eg: png,svg, etc...

when trying to load the save selection dxf file, still got error messages inkscape cannot load properly the file.

Mmmh:

Extensions doesn't work in 1.4-beta2 on Windows (issue #5180).

Works in 1.3.2 or 1.4-beta3.
(raster extensions still broken)

Polygone from your example #2, I'ved try to replicate

install 1.4.2 beta, draw &  save new.dxf file, when selecting export format the .DXF format does not show. (this is why I had a png selected on #11)

from your screencap you are able to select DXF R14,  what I 'm doing wrong here, is it MAC versus Windows ?

anyway I'll wait until the new version is working 100% and without any bug concerning the DXF compatibility.

I´m on Mac exclusively - so I have noch clue what´s up on other platforms. 🤷

Probably on MAC version is more advance than Windows
