Hi, I want to do some work at home and of course can afford inkscape! :) Does anyone know what the best file format is to export to this old copy of corel, I tried one (a common file type, believe it was svg) , but x5 wouldn't open it. Thanks for any help. Mark.
... Draw does a rotten job of SVG. There actually isn't a lot wrong and has been noted for repairs. Corel got all excited about SVG early on and it didn't come to anything. Development would have been put in the 'when it is needed' basket. And it was made clear that X5 was the 'when it is needed' release but even a year ago it was barely getting a mention in the public forum...

Corel is known to be fussy about svg. I'd try ungrouping all groups in Inkscape before trying to open the svg file in X5.
You could also try saving the Inkscape file as PDF, and try opening that in X5.
It begs the question why use Corel? Inkscape is a pretty good tool. X5 is getting pretty old and compatibility with Win 10 (or 8.x) could be an issue.
Yes, I think you can do it.
Thanks for the advice!

I tested with Corel X4. Best results came from saving a copy as PDF, and open the pdf in Corel.
