Using Inkscape with Other Programs Inkscape crashing on importing or opening pdf

    I have been using inkscape to import pdfs to prepare them for loading into cricut machine however last night inkscape crashed on both importing and opening pdf and just shut down. I have imported the pdf many times in the past with no problems on testing with other pdfs the same crash resulted.

    I had to uninstall the latest version of inkscape and then installed the previous version and am able to now import the pdf.

    is this a known problem and if so is there a time scale for repair?

    There are a few bugs in 1.4 that keep me using 1.3.2. There will probably be a bugfix release this year.

    Are there specific features in 1.4 that you require?
