I am working in v 1.3 and have a column of text, and want to lessen the distance between the letters (i.e. 'u' to be a bit higher closer to 'H', 'n' a bit higher closer to 'u' etc). I have tried to use the spacing command and to adjust kerning, however the vertical box is greyed out. Appreciate advice on what I am doing wrong here!

If the rows are created using line-returns, I'd try the line spacing tools.
Awesome @TylerDurden, it worked. Thanks as always :)
@TylerDurden
Where are the line-spacing tools?
In the image below, the line spacing controls are above the pointer.
The text tool (and all other tools) has its controls above the top ruler. (Above the workspace, if you have the rulers hidden.)
Toolbars and more can be shown/hidden using the View>Show/Hide menu.
